Regarding my last post and overall “don’t run if it’s not fun” philosophy, some of my friends pointed out that “fun” isn’t a good word to describe the pursuit of running.
They’re right. Crack of dawn runs, slow burn tempos and gut-busting intervals are not fun. Saying “no, I can’t go out, I have long run tomorrow,” is not fun. Getting home from a meet at 1 a.m. is not fun. Self control is not fun.
But running satisfies and fulfills like nothing else, as we all know. Fun, satisfying, call it what you want – whatever puts a smile on your face, do that.
